Football NSW Primary School Program 2010
Football NSW conducts 2 different Primary School Football Programs across NSW through school visits targeting Years K – 6.
The aim of our program is to expose students to the world’s no.1 game – FOOTBALL, encouraging them to have fun, play for their school team or their local club and to show students that being active and healthy can be FUN.
The first program is structured to run over a single visit, with sessions from 20 – 30 minutes and with a maximum of 30 students per session per coach. Students will participate in a number of activities per session which may include different types of skills work, fun games and mini football games. All equipment will be supplied by Football NSW.
This program runs all year round and is FREE OF CHARGE.
The second option is a user pay program designed to run over a 4 week block. With this program the Football NSW School Development Officers will run the students through a series of planned activities designed to enhance their skills as well as improve coordination, fitness and enjoyment of the game of football, even if they don’t normally play it using many game based activities.
This program still has 1 Development Officer for each 30 students/class but the time frames can be more flexible to suit your school’s needs. Please contact the office to enquire about costs and availability, approximately $10 per child for the 4 week program and students will receive various gifts at the completion of the program.
We also offer Teacher In-Services – Introduction to Coaching, which covers the Laws of the Game, basic techniques and fun games that teachers can use for many different sporting activities.
If your school would like to participate in any of the Football NSW School Development Programs (programs attached) in 2010, please complete the booking form and return it to Schools Development at Football NSW by fax on (02) 9629 3770. Football NSW & Arrive alive What’s Your Best Defence ROAD SAFETY PROGRAM
Football NSW in conjunction with the Motor Accidents Authority have been working together for the last seven years to lower the statistic of young female passengers seriously injured or killed in car accidents through the ‘Whats Your Best Defence’ road safety program, delivered to HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS from Years 9 - 12 in 2010.
The program delivers road safety messages focused on informing female students’ of the importance of taking responsibility as a passenger to ensure everyone arrives at their destination safely. The program is then followed by a football skills clinic, involving basic skills and fun games.
Research reveals young drivers have an increased risk of crashing when they have passengers (friends) in the car with them with young drivers prone to risky behaviour, listening to music or talking to a passenger.
All presentations are undertaken by Football NSW's elite female soccer players in the Arrive alive NSW Premier and Super Leagues.
Program structure:
Arrive alive Presentation 15-20mins
Football Clinic 30-45mins
We will require a hall or classroom for the presentation, along with, if possible, a grassed area for the clinics. We will send one coach per 30 students.
So why not book our experienced coaches for a session during PE or Sports time!
Each participating school will receive Teacher/Coach resources for use in your PDHPE/Sports Program.
If your school would like to participate in any of our Football/Arrive alive Development Programs (program attached) in 2010, please complete the booking form attached. The form can be returned by e-mail to hayley@footballnsw.com.au or by fax to 9629-3770.
