FNSW Development Partnership Program 2009 - “Developing Future Football Stars”
Introduction
A youth development initiative in which FNSW and member Associations / Clubs work in partnership for the development of players within the Metropolitan Representative League for boys U11-U12, Premier and Super Youth U13 and girls competing in the Premier and Super Youth league U12 – U16.
Metropolitan Football Association / Club responsibilities:
Appointment of coaching staff
- Associations / Club must appoint coaching staff to each team with a minimum of youth licence.
- Appointment of staff must be completed and relevant forms submitted to FNSW by 15 December 2008.
- Coaching staff are required to have the appropriate gear and equipment, including cones, poles, bibs, pug goals.
- Each association / club must provide a detailed training and match schedule prior to 30 January 2009.
- Each association / club must appropriate training facilities and changing rooms.
- The appropriate child protection forms must be completed and submitted to FNSW by 10th February 2009 for screening.
Adhering to Development Policies
- Association / Club must adhere to the “fair and equal time policy” which stipulates that each player must be in the field of play for a minimum of 60% of the total time played throughout the season. ( Excluding Goalkeepers -50%)
- Coaches must adhere to the “Planning Policy” which stipulates that coaches must plan and record all coaching sessions and evaluate game performances, these are to be copied and handed in at the monthly meetings for the purpose of review and feedback by FNSW.
- Coaches must adhere to the “Reporting Policy” which stipulates that coaches must provide a detailed report of each player at the conclusion of the playing season. A template will be provided by FNSW.
- Coaches must adhere to the “Scouting Policy” which stipulates at the conclusion of each competition game the head coach must award a 3-2-1 reward system for the best players in their own team and submit them to FNSW at the monthly updates.
Accreditation
- All coaches must attend and pass the intensive accreditation course to be eligible to coach the team. (20/21 Feb 2009)
- All coaches must attend all updates throughout the playing season to maintain their accreditation. Coaches must attend 12 hours out of 20 hours of courses provided by FNSW.
- Only accredited coaches can coach the team. This is enforced by the Association / Club and FNSW.
- All accredited coaches are posted on the FNSW webpage
Communication
- FNSW will conduct approximately 5 x monthly updates which take the form of 30 minutes for a general meeting and 60 minutes for practical update. Coaches and association officials can minute recommendations to FNSW which will be provided to Executive Management. These include issues on the Development Partnership Program and technical matters only.
Football NSW Ltd Responsibilities:
Coach Education / Accreditation
- Employ FNSW head instructors to facilitate the program.
- FNSW will conduct the accreditation course including the intensive induction weekend and regular monthly updates.
- FNSW will provide each coach with a detailed periodised plan for each age group
- FNSW will provide a coaches diary which is to be completed and monitored by FNSW. The diary includes individual session plans, match evaluations, player information details and match analysis.
- FNSW will provide space on the High Performance webpage that supports the Development Partnership Program and lists accredited coaches.
- Provide ongoing support throughout the playing season
Communication
- Communicate recommendations and suggestion on future developments to executive management.
- Provide detailed notes on new initiatives and program changes.
Funding
- Provide the funding necessary for effective implementation of the program including staff and resources.
Policy Development
- Formularizes Policies necessary for elite youth development and distribute to all associations / clubs
Testing and Reporting
- At a cost of $10 per player, FNSW will provide a detailed physiological and technical report from our high performance testing unit. Each association will receive a free team report with recommendations.
